Abstract
Continuing education and the APD program: Iodine is a trace element required for thyroid hormone production and an adequate intake is particularly important for healthy development of the foetus during pregnancy. In light of Australia's mild iodine deficiency, public health strategies are required, including fortification and supplementation.
