Exhibition venue: Chinese Arts Centre, Market Buildings, Thomas Street, Manchester M4 1EU, UK 60-minute Cinema is a six week changing video programme at Chinese Arts Centre. During this time, our main gallery space will be transformed into a comfortable seating environment specially designed for video viewing.

This screening programme entitled 'Hong Kong: our home town' puts an emphasis on the personal experiences of the artists themselves, and as suggested by Ying Kwok, Chinese Arts Centre's Curator, the works showcases two local styles of film making; animation and experimental films mixed with documentary elements. All the films screened in the space have been awarded titles from ifva (Incubator for Film and Visual media in Asia), with all the video artists born and raised in Hong Kong. Although some of these artists have since migrated overseas their concerns are still focused on the developments of the city.
