The Coal Operators' Conference has been held at the University of Wollongong since 1998, with the 8th in 2008. The Conference is organised jointly by the Illawarra Branch of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy AusIMMM, the University of Wollongong and the Mine Managers Association of Australia.
