Abstract

The development of underexplored aspects within the post-synthetic modifications of metal-organic frameworks is presented within this thesis. The introductory chapter of this thesis outlines recent and seminal work to the field of PSM with a special emphasis on aspects related to the content presented within.

A strong theme examined throughout chapters 3 and 4 is the use of thermally-promoted methods to effect post-synthetic transformations in MOFs. Chapter 5 details a post-synthetic modification within an IRMOF-9 analogue, and chapter 6 explores the use of post-synthetic modifications to develop a MOF as a solid-state porous support for organic transformations.
