Abstract
This dissertation concentrates on the synthesis of ultrathin 2D nanosheets, engineering extra active sites, and enhancing the intrinsic HER and OER activity of 2D electrocatalysts. We believe that these novel strategies will open a new avenue for fabricating precious metal-free catalysts with excellent activity towards water splitting.
