Abstract
The overall objective of this thesis was to quantify the influence of the free energy driving force for electron transfer on electron transfer kinetics and charge generation yield in donor-acceptor organic photovoltaic systems, with the aim of reducing to increase device photovoltage (reduce energy loss) while maintaining high device current (high charge generation yield), thereby maximising solar conversion efficiency.
