Abstract
Short and long sleep duration has been linked with a variety of consequences such as impaired cognition, increased risk of chronic health conditions (e.g., cardiovascular disease), motor vehicle accidents, and mortality. The objective of this article is to review relevant evidence from recent large-scale prospective studies. On the basis of this review, recommendations are provided to facilitate future research in this area.
