Expandable DC/DC Topology with Large Voltage Conversion Gain

Abstract

In this paper, an expandable step-up topology utilizing voltage multiplier cells is proposed. The basic proposed topology can be expanded by using the D-C voltage multiplier cells in the secondary side which is implemented in both upper and lower paths of the structure, then, the proposed topology can be applicable in versatile applications with various voltage ratings. Both switches in the circuit have the same switching trigger pulses. Moreover, the voltage and current tension on semiconductors of the proposed structure is low. The proposed converter is analyzed theoretically at the steady state operation and the voltage gain, the voltage and current of inductors and semiconductor elements are calculated. The obtained theoretical results are reconfirmed by PSCAD/EMTDC simulation results.
