Abstract

This paper studies the estimation of delay-Doppler-angle (DDA) parameters of doubly selective fading channels in hybrid multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems. Based on low-rank matrix completion (LRMC) and the root-MUSIC algorithm, we develop time-domain super-resolution schemes for progressive estimation of the angles, Doppler shifts, delay shifts and gains of the physical propagation paths from the sampled observations at the hybrid receiver. The proposed solution is shown to be able to achieve high-accuracy estimation of the parameters of the physical channels, which can in turn be used to reconstruct and predict the channel states, e.g., in the delay-Doppler or delay-time domains.
