Abstract

• Ensuring Pacific perspectives are included in the context in which mental health issues are understood is key to developing mental health literacies and knowledge across Pacific communities.
• Promoting psycho-education to family members who are striving to effectively support their relative with a mental illness can help recovery.
• Indigenous knowledges and practice approaches are also vital to ensuring contemporary service provision and delivery are inclusive of cultural values and views.
