• There are diverse ways in which the Pacific and its people are defined. Utilising appropriate and just language is important to promoting positive inclusion.
• The Pacific region has been subjected to many forms of social and economic development which should include culturally responsive social work.
• Utilising Pacific perspectives to inform practices is an important part of inclusion.
• A definition of Pacific social work operates from a desire to promote a shared and collective approach.
