Abstract

If you needed to change your lifestyle to increase physical and mental wellbeing, you would probably prefer that the change involved an increase in doing something you enjoy and would like to do more often. To make the lifestyle change even more appealing, wouldn't it be great if all your friends and peers were involved, not just others who had been identified as at risk for problems? In this chapter, we examine the role of play in promoting children's wellbeing, particularly in terms of increased physical activity.
