Abstract
This chapter’s principal argument is that the ‘environmental agenda’ ought to be a prime vehicle for moving British society in a more progressive direction, yet is currently failing to realise its considerable political potential. My objectives are to explain this troubling situation and to consider what might realistically be done to change it.
