Abstract

The time has finally arrived. The 16th International Congress of Dietetics (ICD), Sydney 2012, represents a landmark for the profession and we have devoted the September issue of the journal to this momentous occasion. The issue is entirely comprised of invited commentaries provided by invited speakers from across the globe, and the Editorial is provided by the current chair of the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations, Professor Sandra Capra, AOM, FDAA. Through the generosity of our speakers, we have been able to provide significant informed overviews of the key domains of practice, appropriately examining the status quo and then looking to the future. This is a significant stage in the development of the global Dietetics profession, one that we will fully appreciate in years to come.
