Background: Tom Zybrycki’s documentary follows the 1982 sacking of 400 miners and the sixteen day occupation of the Kemira pit by thirty-one miners. The film documents the historic storming of Parliament House by protesters and the effects of the strike on the miners and their families. It represented a new oeuvre of documentary showing industrial conflict from a perspective not seen in mainstream media and received a standing ovation at its Sydney Film Festival screening.
