Abstract
Schizophrenia is a complex genetic disorder with largely unknown aetiology. The search for molecular causes has been the focus for many years studying biochemistry, neurobiology, molecular biology, and molecular genetics of the disorder. Our intention is to provide an overview of approaches with focus on new developments in molecular biology and genetics, as well as describe selected findings, eventually leading to the dissection of molecular causes for this devastating mental disorder.
