Abstract

We investigate the temperature dependence of the intrinsic charge and spin transportin two-dimensional semiconductors with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. For 2akF 2ma2/h2 << w <<2akF 2ma2/h2 ( where a is the Rashba spin-orbit coupling parameter), the real part of the opticalconductivity sR and the imaginary part of the spin Hall conductivity shI decrease withtemperature monotonically. Outside this frequency range sR and shI exhibit resonantbehavior. At high frequencies, sR and shI change sign at a characteristic temperature T1. Our resultsuggests that the sign and magnitude of sR and shI can be tuned by changing the temperature.
