Abstract
© 2019, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society and ASM International. An initial attempt has been made to fabricate titanium iron (TiFe) intermetallic compound (IMC) by the wire arc additive manufacturing process which is cheap, fast, and has the ability to produce near-net shape product. The microstructural analysis confirms that TiFe IMC has been successfully fabricated and the wall build-up constitutes of TiFe IMC phase along the build direction. This research suggests an in-situ method of fabricating TiFe IMC for future hydrogen storage applications.
