Abstract
Intermetallic γ-TiAl-based alloys are promising materials for light-weight structures in high-temperature application. Their material properties are highly dependent on the microstructural evolution during heat treatments. High-temperature laser-scanning confocal microscopy (HTLSCM) is applied for studying grain growth in the single β phase region and β to α phase transformation allowing for the in situ visualization of the microstructural evolution.
