Abstract
This chapter examines community-based media projects that have attempted to shift racialized discourse and improve the representation of muslim and Arab communities in mainstream Australian news media since 2001. By seeking to intervene in mainstream media, community news interventions test the boundaries and reveal the limits to changing media representations.
