Abstract
In the final session at the workshop participants discussed some of the issues that they felt had consistently stood out during the course of the previous two days, and focused in particular on what ideas they felt most challenge INGO's organisation and practice. Some of these issues corresponded quite closely to the questions identified before the workshop and which are summarised in the introduction. Others, however, emerged during the course of the workshop. We have grouped issued from both these categories into five thematic areas:
- Approaches to ethics
- Expectations, roles and obligations of different actors and stakeholders
- Collective challenges and moral divisions of labour
- Accountability, knowing and communicating what works and what does not
- Purpose, direction and ethical challenges for INGOs
