Abstract
Graphene-based composites have attracted much attention due to their unique properties derived by the synergetic effect of the components and graphene. We report a general and robust solvothermal process to decorate SnS2 nanocrystals onto the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets in a single step; the resulted rGO-SnS2 composites display highly reversible capacities and good Columbic efficiency as anode material of lithium ion battery, much better than those of individual SnS2 nanocrystals. In addition, the composites are also identified as good visible light-driven degradation catalyst of aqueous methyl orange (MO). This work demonstrates an efficient method to disperse SnS2 nanocrystals on graphene sheets, which can be applied in the electrode materials in new energy and environmental purification. 2013 by American Scientific Publishers.
