Abstract

Highly uniform CeO2 hollow nanospheres (CeO2HS) decorated on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) were prepared by a simple hydrothermal method without using any surfactant. The CeO2HS/rGO hybrid was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The obtained CeO2HS/rGO hybrid exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity for methylene orange degradation.
