Some highlights of the Australian dementia outcomes measurement suite (DOMS) project: social isolation

Abstract
This paper highlights the findings of the Dementia Outcomes Measurement Suite (DOMS) project in Australia. This research consultancy project commissioned by the Australian Government aimed to develop a tool-kit of instruments for the assessment, screening and outcomes monitoring of dementia conditions in Australia, across acute care, primary and community care, residential care, specialist care and research settings. This paper focuses on the example of Social Isolation but other heath outcome areas selected for investigation included: Dementia Staging and Descriptive Instruments; Health Related Quality of Life; Cognition; Associated Behavioural and Mental Symptoms; General Functioning; Economic Utility Measurement; and Patient and Carer Satisfaction with health services.
