Welcome to the latest edition of the Journal of Student Engagement: Education matters. Our expectations for the first issue were modest; with virtually no publicity or advertising, the expected audience comprised family, friends and other undergraduate students. However, the number of downloads has far exceeded those expectations, suggesting a wider readership, in terms of both number and demographic. This is, of course, good news for all of the undergraduates who are contributing their ideas and passions.
