Abstract

This book offers an introduction to some of the individuals, communities and cultures that have emerged in the postwar period within the context of what in Japanese is frequently referred to as kono sekai. The term means 'this world', and it has been used since at least the end of the Second World War to refer to a wide variety of sexual subcultures.
