Utility of online interactive case studies in preparation for the first clinical placement among nursing students: A cross-sectional study

Publication Name

Teaching and Learning in Nursing

Abstract

It is unclear how useful interactive case studies are for nontraditional nursing students when preparing for their first clinical practicum. From a survey, 717 first year nursing students reported high levels of usefulness of the interactive case studies, were more likely to have high task value and self-efficacy, have English as an additional language, and lower Grade Point Averages. These students may benefit from online interactive case studies to prepare for their first clinical practicum.
