Abstract

In this study, a new transformer-less switched-capacitor (SC) based five-level inverter with common grounded feature is proposed. In the suggested SC-based grid-tied inverter the null of the grid is tied to the negative terminal of the input power supply directly. So that, the leakage current is removed. The suggested common grounded topology can boost the voltage. Furthermore, the presented technique can eliminate the capacitor charging current spike by using a small inductor at its input. The topology description, operation modes of five-level proposed inverter, design guidelines of utilized capacitors and output inductor filter, and related simulation results for five-level common grounded SC-based inverter are presented for verifying the accurate performance of this research.
