Abstract
Structured self-management education is regarded as an essential component of diabetes care. Much of the published work has focused on older children and adolescents. During the initial phase of developing an education intervention for children aged 4-11 years, we undertook a systematic review of education interventions specifically for this age group. The objectives were to examine the content, duration, and effectiveness of these educational related interventions.
