Abstract

Who would have thought twenty years ago that whilst reading a story, a reader could change the main character by a shake of the screen or turn the page with a swipe of a finger? The rapid integration of technology with text has introduced this new and more complex medium for storytelling. Moving image, interactive animation and oral narration are now frequent features of children's stories, with students in contemporary society expected to be skilled users of this digital text format.
