From the editor
This year—2012—is very important for Nutrition and Dietetics: the global profession and this journal. In September, the International Congress of Dietetics will be held in Sydney with participants from around the world. Those attending will learn about Dietetic professional organisations and practice in all its domains, and about research in practice, and research that underpins the food and nutrition knowledge base for practice. Abstracts will be published and a special issue of the journal will present the significant reviews presented by invited speakers. Fittingly, we begin the first issue of the journal for 2012 with an Editorial by Dr Eleanor Beck covering the history of the journal and its current path. The ensuing content is a good reflection of where we have arrived in 2012.
