Background: The poster’s artist, Ray Young, brought to his work his extensive experience living and working with Indigenous communities around Australia. In the early 1980s he worked in Wollongong with Redback Graphix and later worked again with Redback mentoring Indigenous artists. The poster promotes a local production of Tommy about which director Colin Schumacher wrote ‘This production of Tommy is the fusion of a large group of local and outside creative people. It has been an enormous undertaking for Theatre South'.
