Text on poster: Chile …. El pueblo unido jamas sera vencido …. [Chile .... The workers united will never be defeated].
Background: Despite repression, Chile’s trade unions were a mobilising force in the mass civil resistance against the Pinochet regime in Chile, organising rolling strikes and protests from 1983 to 1988. This image, was adapted for the South Coast Labour Council from a photograph taken by Claudio Pérez, an internationally recognised Chilean photographer and photo-journalist during waning days of the regime. His eloquent photographs, documented the national protests of the period.
