Abstract

Background: It is common knowledge under the law that children could be removed from the care of the mentaly ill mothers, if the authorities determine that a mother is putting her children at risk by her negligent behaviors. It is also known that the psychological impact on a mother can be significant and affects her mental state. Our policy aims at balancing the best interest of the mother and child.
