This essay continues my reflections on the early days of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History Society (ASSLH) published in Hummer (vol. 4, no. 1, Summer 2003/4) as ‘ASIO and the Labour History Society: An Incident in 1964’. That article was about an attempt organized by ASIO to disrupt the Society - one of the consequences of labour history’s political role at that time.
