Abstract

This chapter seeks to contextualise several of Kreckler's early experimental works including both solo and group performances, understood as essential to an appreciation of his overall art practice. His interest in compositional processes including improvisation, the generation of variety, counterpoint and the concept of the performance 'score' in which all elements have equivalence are explored.
