Abstract

‘An all-time great’: in June 1978 Yvonne Crittenden, writing for the Bulletin, suggested that Heather McKay’s sports record might be ‘the most extraordinary the world has ever known’. Outclassing records compiled for any sport, Australian squash-player Heather McKay won sixteen consecutive British Opens, fourteen consecutive Australian amateur titles and two World Open championships.
