Abstract

Formation of vulnerable cluster in power system is one of the vital concerns due to the continual blackouts in recent years which indicate that the power system today is too vulnerable to withstand a severer disturbance. This paper presents a fast approach to rank the vulnerable cluster in power system using radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) based on possible loss of load index . The effectiveness of this technique has been demonstrated on IEEE 24–bus system. The results show the merit of using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for identifying the vulnerable cluster in power system.
