Abstract
Non-functional property is of paramount importancefor Web services to function. However, service selectionwith consideration of Quality of Service is a challenge. Thispaper presents an approach to service selection by measuringthe similarity between the web service publication andthe service request. We identify five tendencies of the nonfunctionaldimensions in the service requests; and present aflexible matchmaking approach which enables users to preset thenegotiable preferences. Unlike other service selection approaches,we obtain the relative distance to compute the similarity scorefor generating the ranking list.
