Abstract

Sm₂O₃ thin films have been prepared on biaxial textured Ni-5%W metallic substrates by chemical solution deposition. Precursor film crystallizes at 1000^°C in reduced atmosphere and forms a pure Sm₂O₃ cubic phase with (004) orientation. The Sm₂O₃ film shows an excellent biaxial texture. A homogenous and crack-free surface is observed.
