Reynolds number influence on the vortex-induced vibration critical point of a pivoted cylinder
The aim of the present investigation was to examine the Reynolds number dependence of the critical vortex-induced vibration (VIV) point for cylinde rs in a pivoted system. For translational systems, the existence of a critical mass ratio for cylinders undergoing vortex-induced vibration has been well established.
