Abstract

Uniform and highly ordered TiO2 nano-fibers were synthesized using anodic oxidation of Ti foils. The crystallization and crystal growth of TiO2 nano-fiber arrays were characterized using in-situ synchrotron radiation diffraction at the termperature range 25-700 degrees celcius. The anodized TiO2 was initially amorphous but crystallized to anatase at ~400 degrees celcius and to rutile at ~500-600 degrees celcius. The time of anodization has no influence on crystal growth and has an appreciable affect on the fraction of anatase-to-rutile transformation.
