Abstract
Summarizing major issues raised by their recently published book, the authors outline opportunities and challenges faced by the tourism and hospitality industries because of the growing importance of social media. Suggesting that industry players need a new game plan, they specifically address the need for strategic integration of social media across all business processes, including market research, new service development and knowledge management.
