A series of twenty six complexes of general formula Fe(0CH^)2L where L is an aliphatic or aromatic monocarboxylate have been prepared by an improved method. Only two of the complexes have been previously prepared. All complexes are yellow or flesh coloured powders, unstable to atmospheric moisture and insoluble in the usual organic solvents. The majority are stable to heat up to 250^0.
