The ocean is a gigantic source of renewable and predictable green energy. Ocean energy, in general, and wave energy, in particular, have gained the attention of researchers because of their huge potential in the past few decades. Offshore wind energy and wave energy are two exploitable sources of renewable energy available in the same marine environment. The fluctuating generated power poses a major challenge when supplying the power network. In this thesis, advanced modelling and control schemes are proposed for smooth power production from offshore renewable energy resources. The thesis is divided into two parts, in the first part, the focus is on standalone wave power systems, while in the second part, wind-wave hybrid power systems are studied.
