Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a degenerating neural connectivity disorder that results in memory loss and cognitive impairment. The accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ) in the brain is the first pathological mechanism to initiate AD pathogenesis. However, the precise role of Aβ in the disease progression remains unclear. Thus, it is of high importance to determine the exact role of Aβ throughout the entire course of AD to treat or possibly prevent AD progression.
