With the development of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar to potentially replace the traditional fossil fuels, new energy storage devices are required to collect and store the electrical energy generated from the renewable energy sources. Dielectric capacitors featuring high charge-discharge rate and high power density, are considered as promising candidate for the new energy storage devices. In addition, the dielectric capacitors are widely used in electrical and electronic industries due to their high power density, low cost, and long cycling life. The energy density of dielectric capacitors, however, is inferior to other energy storage devices such as batteries.
