Evaluating the level of conformance of Australian strategic manufacturing practices to world's best practice

The aim of the research is to evaluate the conformance of Australian strategic manufacturing practices to a composite measure of world's best strategic manufacturing practices implemented by high performance plants. The research will analyse the research problem by identifying research questions related to best practice. An index of the most common practices will be developed. The index will then be used as a comparative measure for Australian companies in the sample. An additional aim will be to determine whether the findings of the research expressed in practical terms supports the selection of 'best practice' agendas illustrated throughout the literature.
