The mechanism of current conduction through particulates compressed between two parallel metal electrodes is investigated. The analysis assumes the absence of any surface conduction over the particles. It is shown that the overall electrical characteristics are determined by the characteristics of the individual contacts of the particles themselves, their bulk resistivity aid the mode of compaction.
