CHOPIN Twenty-four Preludes Op. 28 is a presentation of my interpretation of the Preludes. The thesis includes a general study of the history and development of the piano prelude genre, specific historical study of Chopin's Preludes, and Chopin's contribution as pianist and teacher. My intention is to link together the relationship between musical and interpretative analysis and Chopin's influence on the modern piano playing technique in order to achieve my interpretative goals in performance of these preludes.
